Banana-Ginger Smoothie

Try this healthy blend of banana, ginger and berries.

Ingredients:
• 1 banana
• 6 ounces of pineapple juice
• 1/2 cup of ice
• 6 ounces of blueberries
• 6 ounces of raspberries or blackberries
• 2 teaspoons of honey
• 1 teaspoon of grated and peeled fresh ginger

Directions:
Use a blender to puree banana, pineapple juice, ice, blueberries, raspberries or blackberries, honey, and ginger until it becomes smooth.

Strawberry-Orange Smoothie

It is a great smoothie made of frozen strawberries. You may also prepare this smoothie using fresh strawberries but adding extra ice.

Ingredients:
• 2 cups of frozen strawberries
• 1 cup of nonfat vanilla yogurt
• 1/2 cup of orange juice
• 1 tablespoon of strawberry preserves

Directions:
Use a blender to puree the strawberries, yogurt and orange juice until it becomes smooth.

Kiwi-Pineapple Smoothie

This kiwi-pineapple smoothie has a great antioxidant power, it is also packed with vitamin C and fiber.

Ingredients:
• 1 sliced and peeled kiwi
• 1/2 cup of pineapple cubes
• 1 banana
• 1/4 cup of strong and cooled green tea
• 2-4 ice cubes

“Orange” Smoothie

The smoothie is orange because it is made of peaches, carrots and a little bit of orange juice. You may also add a little bit of ginger.

Ingredients:
• 2 cups of frozen and sliced peaches
• 1 cup of carrot juice
• 1 cup of orange juice
• 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed
• 1 tablespoon of grated and peeled fresh ginger

Directions:
Use a blender to puree peaches, carrot juice, orange juice, flaxseed, and ginger; blend until smooth.

Berry Smoothie

This is a great smoothie for those who love berries, but you may also add other fruits, for example mango or bananas.

Ingredients:
• 1 cup of frozen strawberries
• 1/2 cup of fresh blueberries
• 1/2 cup of fresh orange juice
• 2 teaspoons of grated and peeled fresh ginger
• 1/4 cup of plain low-fat yogurt
• 2 cubes of ice

Directions:
Use a blender to puree strawberries, blueberries, orange juice, ginger, yogurt, and ice cubes. Blend until smooth.

Pear-Grape Smoothie

This is a smoothie that reminds us of summer as it contains summer fruits and mint.

Ingredients:
• 1/4 of honeydew pear
• 2 ripe green pears
• 1/2 cup of white grape or apple juice
• 1 cup of ice cubes
• 1/2 cup of fresh mint leaves
